Mehmet Argin he's baaaack - former superintendent of Magnolia Science Academy

BC (Before Caprice)  Mr. Mehmet Argin was the Superintendent of Magnolia Science Academies.  Refresh your memory - prior to Magnolia Science Academy.  Mr. Argin was a principal of Paragon Schools / Sonoran Science Academy in Arizona.
Mr. Argin and his wife Turkan Argin were both political contributors to politicians including the ex state school superintendent Tom Horne who left and withdrew from his second campaign after a rather embarrassing radio show.  We have discussed Argin at length on his blog.

After the LAUSD attempted closure of MSA #6 and #7 of which they hired an attorney from the CCSA charter school law firm of Young, Minney & Corr a rather rude unprofessional attorney who resembles a little boy (Junell) placed a legal block on the closure notice., The deal was to replace "Argin" with Caprice Young at a much higher rate of $250,000 yr and allow her to have free and complete control of hiring/ terminations, and basically making Magnolia less "Turkish" and more about Caprice and her educational reform plans.   Shortly afterwards, Mehmet moved back to Turkey in late 2014. 

Note Mehmet refers to Sonoran Science Academy as "Sonoran, Inc" and 

to Magnolia Science Academies as "MERF" 

Mehmet Argin stayed in Turkey, where he taught at a Gulen school,  till the July 2016 coup, he then moved back to the USA a few weeks latter (August 2016) where he obtained a job with Cal Poly Pomona with another Gulenist that was on the board of the Magnolia Science Academies while his wife Turkan Argin taught at Magnolia Science Academy.   Mehmet is now in Houston, Texas (Little Istanbul) teaching at the Houston Community College.

The scandal in the Centinela Valley school district is widening, with two mid-level managers being placed on paid leave as several investigations continue into the excessive compensation of Superintendent Jose Fernandez.

In the two weeks since the school board put Fernandez on paid leave on April 9, district administrators have issued the same order for Patrick Au, director of information management services, and Ernany Montijo, director of fiscal services.

Meanwhile, teachers union President Jack Foreman said there is no chance Fernandez will return to the district.

“Absolutely zero,” he said. “The corruption is too extensive. There’s nobody in that district who supports him.”

Based on the board's action, these top officials will have to pay any additional fees on their own. The same goes for four school board members who benefit from $150,000 in life insurance purchased by the school system.

Aside from Fernandez, two senior administrators were placed on leave, the district said Thursday: Patrick Au, who was in charge of information technology, and Ernani Montijo, director of fiscal services.

Interim Supt. Bob Cox said he could not comment on why the two administrators had been removed from their positions.

January 23, 2018 is the date set for the renewal hearing.  The school has been recommended for denial but as last time the county school board can override the decision of their staff.
